This alternative, non-governmental UPR report is – for the first time – based on a closer cooperation of child rights and child protection NGOs and individuals. Our NGO alliance, called Child Rights NGO Coalition was formed in February 2015 on the initiative of the UNICEF National Committee for Hungary, as a formalised cooperation in Hungary that could facilitate advocacy on child rights and the implementation of the Convention of the Rights of the Child and/or its monitoring. Besides 25 NGOs and 12 individual experts, the Deputy Commissioner for the Rights of National Minorities, the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and UNHCR Hungary, as observers support our work.
