Fashion dolls for the children in danger

Emese Danks, executive director of the Hungarian Unicef National Committee opened the conference and during her speech, she summerised the global challanges and goals of UNICEF. “UNICEF struggles for children in danger on a global level. We work for the children’s rights, physical and mental helth, we offer long term humanitarian and developement programs for children who live in the developing countries. We aim to achieve that every children have the childhood where they can evolve their abilities and talent.”

D.Tóth Kriszta, UNICEF Ambassador spoke about the Hungarian role of UNICEF, activities, Dolls for UNICEF campaing included. “As it is the case everyhere in the world, here in Hungary the goal is the same: Help the children in danger. However our tools are a bit different in Hungary. The UNICEF Hungarian National Committee Foundation as the UNICEF offical Hungarian representative collect donations for UNICEF’s international children aid programs, and fights for the emergence of children’s rights in the country. Last year we managed to collect 60 million forints for the UNICEF international humanitarian programs.”

After the original french campaign – where there were fashion brands among the designers like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior – this time the Hungarian fashion industry’s best designers made dolls and clothes for it. Designers as Léber Barbara, Daalarna, Luan by Lucia, Je Suis Belle, USE unused, Slang Slang, Romani Design, Tomcsányi Dóri, Matyodesign, Manuéla and Manier Szalon stand beside the campaign.

The uniquely designed and specially dressed up fashion dolls are “adopted” by famous calebrities who support our goals: draw attention to the children in danger. Ada, Anita Ábel, Eszter Balla, Boglárka Csemer, Kata Dobó, Zsolt Erdei, Réka Farkashzi, Anikó Für, Dorka Gryllus, Gabriella Hámori, Eszter Horgas, Claudia Liptai, Erika Marozsán, Andrea Osvárt, Nóra Ördög, Lia Pokorny, Éva Ristov, Balázs Sebestyén, Réka Tenki, Nóra Trokán, Dorottya Udvaros and Tímea Vajna – all of them stand by the campaign.

Hungarian designers and the adoptive celebrities joined the pressconference. The foundation presented a short movie about the designers and the celebrities. Then the attandees read a confession together about the children’s rights specifically the right’s of the children in danger.

 

At the end of the conference the dolls were placed where the exhibition takes place. The exhibition called “Benned élő gyermek” is open to the public from november 10. to 20. in the hall of Hotel Kempinski Corvinus Budapest.

The closing of the campaign will be a charity auction with Judit Virág, art dealer on november 20. Our invited guests can bid to the unique dolls. The donation from the auction will be transfered by UNICEF to help the children in danger (in the form of clean water, nutrition package, medicine, vaccines).
